Expansion Joint Fabrics
Newtex has woven and engineered the following fabrics for expansion joint use. These high temperature fabrics can be used in multi-layered configurations to resist temperatures and chemicals.
ZetexPlus®
Manufactured from a highly texturized glass yarn with a high temperature coating, ZetexPlus resists thermal stresses and chemical corrosion. ZetexPlus fabric can withstand temperatures up to 2000°F (1093° C). Our most popular fabric is ZetexPlus 1200. ZetexPlus 1200 is 40 oz./square yard (1356 gr./square meter) available in 50 yard (46 meter) rolls in 40 inch (1016mm) and 60 inch (1524mm) widths.
For additional durability and strength, ZetexPlus with wire reinforcement is recommended. A wire mesh is interwoven with ZetexPlus fabric to provide resistance to abrasive media and gases that would otherwise deteriorate the face of the fabric. The interwoven wire construction ensures the fabric lasts longer than a separate wire layer; the result of reduced internal fabric friction during expansion, contraction, and angular flexing of the expansion joint. Z-Temp
A fiberglass fabric with an aluminized coating, Z-Temp offers chemical resistance and heat reflection in high-temperature applications up to 800°F (427 °C). Z-Temp coated fabric is available with and without wire reinforcement.

Zetex Silicone Coated
A silicone coating gives the fabric a rubberized surface, making it suitable as an outer fabric cover for all-weather use.

Zetex PTFE Coated
A Teflon* coating sintered into both sides of our fiberglass fabric enables fabrication of an effective chemical-resistant jacketing and all-round joint finish. Ask for Zetex 578-1, Zetex 617-2 or heavyweight Zetex 1100 PTFE fabric.
