Kiln & Proximity Suit Construction

Zetex Kiln and Proximity Suits consist of a hood, coat, pants, boots, gloves or mitts woven from glass fiber fabric. Complete suits are designed to protect personnel from high heat sources, including steam, vapor and liquids. Garments also are available as individual accessories.

KILN SUIT
Hood: Designed for use with an air mask. The hood features inner flame drape seals; under-arm adjustment straps; built-in shell for structural support; hard cap with ratchet headgear; speedy clip for hard cap support; and a hardened aluminum window frame with thermal lenses.

Coat: Designed to be worn with breathing apparatus. Double storm fly front. Flame seal drawstring at bottom.

Pants: High waist design. Adjustable suspenders, and adjustable legs at bottom.

Boots: Designed to fit over work shoes. Anti-skid sole bottoms. ZetexPlus binding.

Mitts: ZetexPlus palm and thumb. Aluminized back and cuff.


PROXIMITY SUIT
Hood: Hood features a full shoulder length drape; adjustable underarm straps; built-in shell for structural support; hard cap with ratchet adjustment; speedy clip for hard cap support. The gold window and aluminum retainer are secured by wing locks.

Coat: Available with or without breathing apparatus accommodation. Double storm fly front. Flame seal with drawstring at coat bottom.

Pants: High waist design. Adjustable suspenders, and adjustable straps on leg bottoms.

Boots: Designed to fit over work shoes. Leather insulated soles.

Mitts: ZetexPlus palm and thump. Aluminized back and cuff.


BREATHING APPARATUS
A breathing apparatus is required for the Kiln Suit, and is optional for the Proximity Suit. Proximity Suit with breathing apparatus accommodation is recommended.


BODY COOLING
To increase worktime in hot environments, consider ordering a body cooling and air distribution system with the Kiln and Proximity Suits. Designed to provide worker comfort in extremely hot environments, the system consists of a diffuse-air vest attached to a small vortex tube. The vortex tube converts compressed air to cold air up to 60F° (33C°) below or above the air inlet temperature. The vest feeds the air to the worker's face and torso. Note: The system is not a source of respiratory protection in hazardous environments.
