Accounting Associate

Job Description

Summary

The Accounting Associate is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, and general maintenance of the general ledger.  This role will be working under the supervision of the Accounting Manager. 

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process accounts payable vouchers
  • Generate sale invoices 
  • Prepare and input monthly journal entries
  • Review all freight invoices and verify validity
  • Generate accounts receivable reports and contact customers on delinquent payments as necessary
  • Assist with monthly balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Generate weekly accounts payable payments
  • Assist in independent audits (i.e. annual CPA review, insurance)
  • Act as back-up for other Accounting functions as needed
  • Assist with Human Resources or Administrative functions as necessary

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with relevant experience
  • 1-3 years relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping preferred
  • Knowledge in accounting software, ERP software, spreadsheets  
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and multitasking 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Fluent in English    

Physical Requirements

  • Employee will be required to sit for extended periods, stand and walk

Work Environment

  • Office cubical environment, occasional exposure to airborne fiberglass
