Job Description

Summary: Position reporting to VP of Operations; Manages all mechanical, electrical, and high-pressure systems in the facility and associated with textile and coating machinery. Sets and completes preventative and corrective maintenance schedule; Contracts with third parties when specific expertise required. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates the inspection, preventative, and breakdown maintenance of all mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment
  • Oversees the preventative maintenance program for manufacturing equipment to ensure effectiveness on minimizing unplanned downtime
  • Maintains efficient, accurate, and timely records on equipment maintenance
  • Repairs, maintains, and rebuilds all production equipment
  • Maintains clean work area and maintenance shop that meets Newtex’s safety requirements
  • Coordinates with outside contractors to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment as needed
  • Develops specifications for production equipment; assist in the selection, purchase, and installation of the manufacturing equipment
  • Performs any other reasonable request

  • Fluent English
  • Strong problem solver and trouble-shooting skills
  • Strong mathematical and mechanical skills
  • Basic Electrical, plumbing, and high-pressure system competency
  • PLC and controller understanding


Computer Skills:

  • Computer literacy is required


Certificate and license:

  • Industry certifications favored
  • Fork lift and all motorized transport equipment certification required


Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of the job the employee is required to stand, walk and be able to sustain good mobility for the duration of the shift
  • Periodic bending and climbing may be required
  • The employee is regularly required to lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs


Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of the job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical products and airborne fiberglass particles
  • The noise level in the environment is loud
  • Items of appropriate personal protective equipment will be required
