The Z-Block Fire Containment Bag Mitigates Fire Risk Aboard Aircraft
The Z-Block™ Fire Containment Bag is designed to contain fires caused by the Lithium-Ion batteries used to power laptops, smartphones, tablets, and other personal electronic devices (PEDs). Fire containment bags are most commonly used aboard aircraft and in other confined spaces where a lithium-ion battery fire is likely to lead to extensive property damage or loss of life. The Z-Block™ Fire Containment Bag has been tested extensively with live battery fires, and the fire resistant materials used to fabricate the fire containment bag have been tested in accordance with FAA standards.
About the Fire Containment Kit:
The Z-Block™ Fire Containment Bag is sold as part of a kit which also includes a pair of X20 high temperature gloves and a silica fire blanket. The kit is easy to store, easy to use, and requires minimal training.
The fire containment bag features several layers of advanced Z-Block™ Flame Retardant Fabric, ZetexPlus® Vermiculite Coated Fiberglass Fabric, and Z-Flex® Aluminized Fabric to ensure that heat and fire remain contained. An industrial velcro closure ensures that the fire containment bag will remain securely fastened throughout a volatile fire. A handle on the flap makes it easy to open the bag in the event of an emergency.
The Z-Flex® X20 high temperature gloves feature an aluminized back and leather palm to protect hands from the extreme heat associated with Lithium-Ion battery fires while providing good grip and dexterity for handling small electronic devices.
The Z-Sil™ Silica fire blanket is designed to knock down flames before the handler attempts to move a burning device. The fire blanket also serves as an additional barrier when moving the device into the fire containment bag.
