Aluminized Aramid Fabrics
These heat and abrasion resistant aluminized aramid fabrics are woven from core spun para-aramid yarns with a fiberglass core and then aluminized using the Z-Flex Multilayer Aluminization process to provide enhanced abrasion resistance, heat protection, and heat reflectivity.
Aramid fabrics are recognized for being strong, abrasion resistant, and heat resistant with low flammability. Aramid is not conductive and does not have a melting point. Introduced in the 1960’s by DuPont, Aramid fabrics are commonly known by the brand name "Kevlar®".
In addition to aluminized aramid fabrics, we also manufacture aluminized OPAN/Aramid blends. OPAN/Aramid blends are strong and fire resistant like core spun aramid, but they also offer additional comfort and flexibility.
Z-Flex Aluminized aramid and OPAN/aramid fabrics are often used in heat shields, high-temperature gloves, and aluminized clothing for industrial environments where workers and equipment are exposed to high temperatures and require the durability of aramid for abrasion and puncture resistance.
Z-Flex Aluminized aramid fabrics are available in a range of weights and thicknesses to accommodate any high-temperature application. In addition to aluminized aramid, Newtex also manufactures aluminized fiberglass fabrics and aluminized rayon fabrics.
