High Temperature Wire Fabrics
Zetex® Steel™ high temperature wire fabrics are woven from premium fiberglass yarns and stainless steel wires to provide superior strength, puncture resistance, and heat resistance. Wire fabrics are ideal for high temperature, high vibration environments. The wire also works to dissipate heat across the surface of the fabric, improving heat resistance.
Zetex® Steel™ wire fabrics are stronger and more durable than competitive wire fabrics. We ply multiple stainless steel wires with each strand of texturized fiberglass yarn and then use those wire reinforced yarns in both the warp and weft directions of the woven fiberglass fabric. We also use a finer wire than many other manufacturers, meaning that our wire is less likely to kink and has greater flex fatigue resistance. Our intensive manufacturing process and superior input materials result in a stronger, more durable product. To ensure the highest quality, all Zetex® Steel™ wire fabrics are manufactured in the USA at Newtex’s Victor, New York facility.
Zetex® Steel™ wire fabrics are available with or without the ZetexPlus® Vermiculite Coating. Untreated Zetex® Steel™ wire fabrics can withstand operating temperatures up to 1000°F / 540°C and peak temperatures up to 1300°F / 700°C. With the ZetexPlus® Vermiculite Coating, the wire fabrics can withstand operating temperatures up to 1500°F / 815 °C and peak temperatures up to 2000°F / 1095°C.
Refineries, power plants, and offshore drilling platforms commonly use high temperature wire fabrics in combination with other Newtex Performance Materials to construct turbine blankets, insulation for diesel engines, and other types of removable insulation pads and jackets.
The following styles of Zetex® Steel™ wire fabric are UL approved and meet the NFPA 701 certification: Zetex A-820 with Wire and Zetex A-1220 with Wire.
