Z-Flex® II Aluminized Safety Apparel Materials

Z-Flex® II is Newtex’s advanced multilayer aluminized fabric technology, engineered to deliver exceptional radiant heat protection, durability, and comfort in the most demanding environments. Designed for high-performance safety apparel, Z-Flex® II fabrics feature an improved bond structure and enhanced thermal performance to provide long-lasting protection and reflectivity where it matters most.

Z-Flex® II fabrics are available with three high-performance base material options:

  • Zetex® texturized fiberglass – Heavier and highly durable, offering superior protection from high temperatures and molten metal; ideal for proximity suits and aluminized protective garments.

  • Z-Fil™ filament fiberglass – Lightweight and flexible, perfect for multi-layer protective systems and apparel where mobility and comfort are key.

  • Z-Tech Rayon – Offers the same excellent radiant heat and molten metal protection as DualMirror® II aluminization, combined with the flexibility, comfort, and cost-effectiveness of rayon. Commonly used for aluminized clothing in foundry, glass, and industrial firefighting operations.

All Z-Flex® II fabrics reflect up to 95% of radiant energy and protect against radiant heat up to 3000°F (1650°C). While the aluminized surface is not designed for direct contact above 350°F (175°C), Z-Flex® II fabrics provide reliable performance, strength, and flexibility for extreme heat environments.
